Oh, Bardon's, how I love you. A favorite summer memory of mine growing up will always be ice cream cones and milkshakes in the evening and even now I am never disappointed. My personal favorite treat is a banana milkshake (made with real banana!) but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Typical soft serve and typical prices here. It's unfortunately right on the corner of a busy intersection, and feels slummy because of the buildings around it. I was slightly disappointed in my KitKat flurry, because the KitKat pieces were just broken into quarters and mixed in. So instead of KitKat pieces in each bite you pretty much ate the ice cream and then a bite of KitKat separately. The cookie dough flurry was good, though. The ice cream itself was sweet but very smooth. We'd come back to satisfy our up North ice cream cravings.

Love this place. You don't see many creamy whips anymore these days and this place is great. The soft serve is creamy and dreamy. They also sell hard ice cream. The lines are always long which shows there patrons dedication.

Really good soft serve without the weird after taste. Quick service and inexpensive makes it a worthy stop for families.

Wow, great place! We have been coming to Traverse City for 12 years and always drove past it but never stopped until this year. The soft serve was very creamy, and the price was very reasonable. When we stopped by the next day I got a large soft serve and it was plenty for two people. Highly recommend!!

Little Debbie brownies and Spartan cones. We could have made the same stuff at home. Yes, we have high standards because we are absolutely spoiled by our ice cream place (Captain Sundae in Holland). We got two cones, one with hard and one soft serve. Nothing special. We also got two "special" ice cream dishes and were completely underwhelmed by portion size and ingredients. I like the local feel, but the ambience blows. There are empty businesses all around and the shop is on the corner of a busy intersection and busy parking lot. If you don't get a picnic table and have small children you'll spend the entire time worried about them.

Bardon's is a staple of summertime in Traverse City. From picking up shakes after getting out of school at TC Central, to walking over from a beach day at Bryant Park, Bardon's holds a very special place in my heart. The people love Bardon's so much that there was a Facebook campaign to save the little ice cream shop on the corner when it was in danger of being demolished for a CVS and other businesses to take its place. Thank GOODNESS that didn't happen! facebook.com/pages/Save-… I heard even Larry David has been spotted here. EVERYONE loves Bardon's, even the biggest cynics in the world.

Best. Softserve. Ever. Creamy and flavorful, and no weird aftertaste like many other grainy/icy softserve ice cream.

Best strawberry shake I have ever had. Have gone each year we visit and it never let's us down. A touch better than the other Mom and Pops all over the state.

I had a cookie dough ice cream thing. Sort of like a blizzard? I thought it was pretty good but there was not very much cookie dough in it. Basically, my food was not terrific but the overall experience is nice. I would much rather go to a TC institution like this than a chain. I am glad it is there. I went to Bardon's several times this summer and also Dairy Lodge but never DQ. There is a reason for that

Ok soft serve not much flavor probably should of gotten Frozen custard instead . Also hard to get into lot as the next door lot is a defunct restaurant so it's chained off

Bardon's how I love thee! How does it only have two other reviews??!! What the What?! Hands down, the best ice cream in TC. And the best butterscotch dip (maybe the only butterscotch dip) in town. Portion sizes are ridiculous. A jr. cone is the same size as a small cone elsewhere. Definitely worth waiting in line for. A must go!

I'm with Andrea; I'm only the 2nd person to review what is possibly the most wonderful ice cream place in northern Michigan? It's an institution, a fixture, and it should be in the National Register of Historic Places. Ok, maybe I'm going overboard but if you're from TC and grew up with Bardon's, you know what I mean.

Are you kidding me?!? I can't believe this place hasn't been yelped! There is a big line every night. They've been in business for 60 years. I love the retro feel - - - a big retro star light on the top of the building drew me in. They have a big menu...whatever you like in terms of ice creamy treats: flurries, shakes, sundaes, cones, freezes. My favorite is the manitou mint ice cream in a cup with hard chocolate shell on top...sinful.
